By submitting information to Human Interest Story Media through any channel — including but not limited to this form, any other website or platform, email, social media, direct message, third-party casting platforms, or any unofficial channel — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set out in this notice. No signature is required — submission constitutes your full and informed consent. This notice also applies to individuals who nominate, refer, or submit information about another person through any official or unofficial means.
1. Who We Are
Human Interest Story Media (operating as hu.in.story, together "HISM," "we," "us," or "our") is a media and production company focused on documentary content, reality content, vertical social series, and in-person events. This notice governs all information submitted in connection with any casting call, talent search, or participation inquiry, regardless of how or where that submission originates.
2. What You Are Submitting
When you submit information to us through any channel, you may be providing us with some or all of the following: your name, age, location, and contact information; photographs, video footage, audio recordings, or voice recordings; personal background, life history, and biographical details; opinions, beliefs, experiences, and personal stories; information about third parties, including individuals you are nominating or referring; and any other information you voluntarily include in your submission. If you are submitting information about another person, you represent that you have the right to do so and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
3. How We May Use Your Submission
By submitting information to us through any channel, you grant Human Interest Story Media a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, publish, and otherwise exploit your submission and any materials contained within it, in whole or in part, for any and all purposes related to our productions and business activities, including but not limited to: development, production, post-production, and distribution of documentary, reality, or other media content; promotional, marketing, and advertising materials in any format; social media content across all platforms including short-form vertical video; pitch materials, press materials, and industry presentations; live and in-person events, screenings, and public exhibitions; and any other use connected to HISM's business activities, current or future.
4. Who We May Share Your Information With
Your submission and the information contained within it may be shared with, accessed by, or disclosed to any of the following, without further notice to you: employees, principals, and representatives of Human Interest Story Media; independent contractors, freelancers, and production crew; volunteers and unpaid contributors working on any HISM project; production partners, co-producers, and collaborating companies; distribution partners, streaming platforms, and broadcast networks; talent agencies, casting directors, and industry professionals; sponsors, advertisers, and brand partners; social media audiences and the general public through published content; press, media outlets, and journalists covering our productions; and any third party reasonably necessary to carry out the above purposes. There is no limitation on the geography, platform, medium, or audience for any such sharing. Your information may be shared publicly and globally.
5. Nominations and Third-Party Submissions
If you are submitting information about another person — whether as a nomination, referral, or any other form of third-party submission — you acknowledge that: you are doing so voluntarily and without coercion; you have a good-faith basis for believing the individual may be interested in or suitable for participation; and HISM bears no liability for any consequences arising from your decision to submit another person's information. HISM may or may not contact the nominated individual and is under no obligation to disclose the source of a nomination.
6. No Guarantee of Participation
Submitting information through any channel does not guarantee selection, participation, or any role in any HISM production or project, regardless of how the submission was made or by whom. We reserve the right to accept or decline any submission at our sole discretion and without explanation.
7. No Compensation
Unless a separate written agreement is executed between you and Human Interest Story Media, submission of information through any channel does not entitle you or any nominated individual to any compensation, payment, royalty, credit, finder's fee, or other consideration of any kind.
8. Your Representations
By submitting information to us through any channel, you represent and warrant that: you are at least 18 years of age, or have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian; all information you have provided is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge; you have the full right and authority to grant the permissions described in this notice; your submission does not infringe on the rights of any third party; and if submitting information about another person, you have a good-faith basis for doing so.
